About Us

History HistoryWe visited and researched antique malls across the country, culling ideas and concepts to help build the Queen of Hearts into very innovative and progressive antique and interior malls. The three most important business concepts that have attributed to the Queen of Hearts success are providing outstanding customer service, the ability to adapt to the marketplace and the daily involvement of the Andersons. Jim is head of operations and Stacey handles the financial, communications, and marketing areas of the company. Queen of Hearts has been branded to be a one-stop shop for antiques and home interiors merchandise.July, 1998-- Queen of Hearts in Alpharetta opened with 12 dealers in a 3-year vacant Ingles totaling 33,609 sf. The dealer-merchant count is currently over 200 with a wait list.May 2003 -- Jim and Stacey Anderson partnered with Pam Creque to buy an existing antique/interior mall in East Cobb. The business was sold in February 2006.January 2004 -- The Buford Queen of Hearts opened and currently is home to 162 dealers in 33,609 sf.May 2006 -- The Queen of Hearts of Marietta opened in a 19,700 sf facility on Canton Road at East Piedmont. Currently there are 45 dealers.

Born and raised in Atlanta, GA and attended the University of Georgia graduating in 1980 with a major in journalism and a minor in marketing. As a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, she held positions of Treasurer and Standards President. Stacey worked at McCann-Erickson Advertising and Kaiser, Kuhn, Bennett & Sharp before starting Anderson Productions, a print broker company in 1988. This company is still operational today.Her husband, Jim Anderson, was born and raised in Essex, Connecticut attending University of Connecticut studying business management. The Queen of Hearts has benefited greatly from his 10+ years in retail and wholesale sales experience with Britches of Georgetown and Timberland.Jim and Stacey Anderson have been married for 23 years and have two sons -- Keaton, 20, a sophomore at Georgia College and State University and Tyler, 22, living his dream in Steamboat Springs, Colorado working in a fly fishing and outdoor store.

I was born in Tucker, Georgia and graduated from the University of Georgia with a BS in Education in 1980. I married Dick in 1982 and we lived in Albany, NY; Brookfield, CT; and Farmington Hills, MI before being transferred to Atlanta in 1991. We live in Tuxford subdivision and have two children, Jennifer who is 25 and living in Chicago, IL and Jeff who is a junior at UGA. I volunteered a lot when the children were younger and was President of New Prospect PTA and Webb Bridge MS PTA, as well as various PTSA duties with Milton and Chattahoochee HS. I have also served as President of our Tuxford HOA and Kappa Alpha Theta Alumnae Chapter and am currently the President of the Atlanta Alumnae Panhellenic Association. While I have enjoyed all my volunteer activities, I decided to start working part time at the Queen in 2006 and became one of the managers in 2008. The dealers are wonderful to work with and we have a great staff in Alpharetta that makes it fun going to work each day! I enjoy all kinds of puzzles and games, spending time with family and friends, and tailgating at Falcons football games!
I was born and raised in Crawfordsville, Indiana and graduated from Purdue University School of Pharmacy. I practiced pharmacy for 8 years, then became a drug chain buyer, VP Marketing, Chain President, and retired as Executive Vice President of Peoples Drugstore. I then became a consultant to small independent drugstores and businesses to assist them in competing against large companies. My hobbies include antiques, coin collecting, fishing, and collecting pharmacy memorabilia. I have been a dealer at the Queen of Hearts for ten years and have worked as a manager, loader, and furniture mover. The Queen of Hearts represents the best antiques and interiors mall in the South and has the best selection of antiques and customer service.
I was born in Hall County, Ga. but never lived there but a very short time. I graduated from Milton High School in Alpharetta in 1964, got married in 1965 and my only son Scott was born in 1966. I was married for 17 years then divorced and moved to Atlanta for a short time where I met my husband Lamar. We have been married for 24 years and live in Woodstock, only about 13 miles from the Queen. I have been in the store for about 8 years and started working in the store in East Cobb for about a year. I have been a manager for several years. I had an antique shop in the Crabapple community for 15 years and was in charge of the Crabapple Antique Festival for about 12 years. Antiques have always been in my blood. I have been in the antique business for over 35 years and have done Lakewood, Scotts and also Pride of Dixie. I love my job at the Queen and the ladies I work with are super. We all get along well and really like each other! Jim and Stacey have done well in picking the right girls. I have 2 grandsons, Justin, who is 19, and Brandon, who is 15. They are my heart. Whatever they are involved in, I am there. I also have 3 step-children and 3 step-grandchildren. My life is very full and that is good!

I was born in Atlanta, Georgia and moved to the Washington, D.C. area for many years. I joined the Air Force and served there for 4 years and then worked for Bell Atlantic Telecommunications for 26 years as a supervisor in the Washington, DC area. I started working at the Queen of Hearts ten years ago when I moved back to the Atlanta area. It has been a fun experience for me and I love meeting people and interacting with the customers especially. In my spare time away from the Queen, I enjoy playing chess on the computer, cheering on the Atlanta Braves, and fishing.
I am an Atlanta native. I was raised in the Buckhead area for the first 4 years of my life and then moved to Sandy Springs where I graduated from Sandy Springs High School in 1968. I had a job immediately with a wonderful firm Charlie Cates Realty in Roswell (Charlie and my Mother grew up together) and worked there until 1984. I got married in 1971 and have been married for 39 years. We bought a house in unincorporated Fulton County (now Milton) 6 months after getting married and that is where we still are today. In between that time I had 2 wonderful sons, Travis who is now married to Tiffany and they have given me a precious grandson, Thomas. My other son Trent has his own computer business. I started my own drapery business in 1983 just a little time after Trent was born so I could stay at home with him. Now 27 years later I have a great business and have met many wonderful people and friends. I also love decorating and gardening. Lots of volunteer work in that time frame with Alpharetta Elementary, Haynes Bridge Middle, Crabapple Crossing and especially Milton High School. My sister and I opened a booth at the Queen 3 years ago. She has since left and opened her own business. I have just recently become part of the Queen staff and love every minute of those achy walking feet of mine.
Donny’s main passion in life is golf. He believes that any good day should happen on the golf course. He is an entrepreneur having created six businesses with his most recent being Treasures for Hearth & Health which includes healthy vending machines and an antique booth at The Queen of Hearts. He is married to Lorenne Fey and they live in Stone Mountain, Georgia. He is the newest member of the Queen of Hearts staff.

I was born in Brandon, Florida, just outside of Tampa, and moved to Atlanta about ten years ago. I have been working at the Queen for about five years and am now attending Kennesaw State University. I enjoy hanging out with my friends and my family, and in my spare time I am watching sports. I play roller hockey for KSU and have been playing hockey for 13 years as a goaltender. I have enjoyed my time at the Queen of Hearts – it’s basically a workout every time I am here.
Jay, JJ, James, MimiI was born in Massachusetts, the 4th of 6 children. I have two amazing parents that are alive and well, along with 2 brothers and 3 sisters, with whom I am very close.I grew up in Fairfield, CT and spent my summers on Cape Cod. I graduated from Southern Connecticut State University in 1983 with a B.S. in Studio Art Specializing in Photography.I continued my studies at The School of Visual Arts in Manhattan while working as a photo lab technician in a professional custom Lab. I freelanced in Commercial Photography studios both in CT and NYC for 15 years before moving to the Atlanta area where I then focused on B&W Children Portraiture. My portrait work can be viewed on my web site, www.jaymebphoto.com. I am currently working on a new web site, a 30 year "Collection of Fine Art Photographs" and should be ready in the Spring of 2011. I met my husband Dan in 1986 and we married in 1991. We moved to Atlanta in 1995 for Dan's job, where he is a Regional Manager in the Pharmaceutical Industry. We have two beautiful children together, Shannon Elizabeth 17, a junior at Milton HS and Jack Carter, 14 a freshman there as well. My interests and hobbies include; Alta Tennis, annual ski trips with Dan and the kids, boating on Lake Lanier in the summertime, just to name a few. I have been part of the Queen family since March of this year and have loved every minute of it. The Queen has been my "Happy Place" for ten years and I consider myself lucky to now work there with such a great group of people (thanks Stacey! :) Although Photography is and always will be my love...the Queen is my new found passion!

I was born and raised in this area. My husband, Jeff, is also a native of Atlanta. We have two daughters. Alyssa is in college at Kennesaw State University and Rachel attends Mill Creek High school. I am an engineer by trade, but have been in design and consulting for 10 years. I love working with customers by coming up with a look for their home and then helping them acheive that look. I have been a dealer-merchant at the Queen since the summer of 2010 and have been a staff member since February 2011. I believe we have the best dealer-merchants as well as the greatest customers.
I have worked at the Queen of Hearts several days a week for three years. What a great job, working with great people! In my former life I taught school (Grades 5 - 7) for over 30 years in DeKalb and Fulton. My husband, John, and I live on 17 acres and at one time had a menagerie of horses, dogs, and cats. We now count only one dog, one cat, and two geriatric horses as our extended family. Our two children, Elizabeth and Andrew, graduated from UGA and Auburn, respectively, and both work in the metro area. I was born in Winter Haven, Florida, but unlike my other siblings who chose the University of Florida, I ventured out of familiar territory and attended the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. Upon graduation, I moved to Atlanta, taught, went to grad school, met my husband, and put down roots. I quit riding horses a couple of years ago and took up golf, which has its own set of challenges. I also enjoy jogging and working outside.
I was born in Atlanta and graduated from Florida State University with a BS in Art Education years ago. Flying internationally for Delta for 30+ years, I developed an interest in collecting antiques especially English and French. I have been an antique dealer now for twenty five years. As a member of the staff at the Queen, I enjoy the perfect job. Our customers are delightful and it is a pleasure assisting them as they search for treasures. My co-workers are a fun and eclectic group! I reside on a farm in Cherokee county with a husband, three cats, two dogs, and six horses (four of them are geriatric). Our daughter is a sophomore in college studying English and voice performance. I look forward to seeing you at the Queen of Hearts.

Hi, my name is Jane and I came to work at the Queen of Hearts over two years ago I have always enjoyed the hunt. Here we have so many diverse and hard-working dealer-merchants, that your search will be effortless and enjoyable. I have the great pleasure of working with some of the best people, all of them willing to go that extra mile.I grew up in the north Florida around Lake Seminole. I am married and have one grown son, Josh, who was a privilege to raise. I have worked in the medical and mental health fields, education, and customer service. I enjoy working in my yard, traveling, and talking to all the interesting people who walk through our doors every day. Come see us and allow us to help you find that perfect piece for your home.
I have lived in Georgia my entire life and love this beautiful state. I have one daughter, Cadance who his five and starting kindergarten in the fall. My husband, Geoff and I were married last August. We enjoy many hobbies to include restoring a 1965 Mustag and scouting for vintage and antique car parts. We have many furry friends including our poodle, Cheri, our dachshund, Doggie, our three cats, Rocky Meow Boa, Binx and Gizmo, and our newest furry friend, Lucky Pete, our big fluffy bunny. We also have many fresh and salt water fish tanks. I joined the Queen staff in early spring and really love the wonderful people I work with. Everyone has been so welcoming and king! I have also enjoyed meeting all the great dealer-merchants and sharing our creative ideas and thoughts. I plan to stay with the Queen for a very long time!
I was born in Snellvill, GA and graduated from South Gwinnett High. I married in 1977 and have two daughters, one granddaughter named Tay and one grandson, Jackson. I worked int he Barrow County school system for over 20 years. I have been at the Queen since December 2010 as a dealer-merchant and staff member. I love this store, the employeee, customers and dealer-merchants. Great Place to Be!

I was born and raised in Miami, FL. After graduating highschool, I worked for Southern Bell while attending college. After college I married and had five children, three sons and twin daughters. We moved to Atlanta in 1984 and raised our children. At last count I have 11 grandchildren which keep me really busy. My career moves included teaching school, managing a four-doctor surgical practice, children's librarian, quality control with tool manufacturer and then I found Queen of Hearts. I really love the place and the people. I always thought that by this time I would be work free and just enjoying life. But after discovering the treasures inside Queen of Hearts as a shopper, I asked about employment. It is a good feeling to go to work at a place where every day you get to help nice people select that special accent for their home and work alongside a great group of people which includes the staff and our dealer-merchants.
Born and raised near Birmingham, AL, and married with three grown children and six grandchildren. Married high school sweetheart, Gail, and have been married almost 50 years. Son, Dennis Jr. lives in Atlanta, daughter Deanna and family live in Braselton, and deceased son Brian's family lives in Alabama.Retired from Chicago Bridge & Iron Company with 40 years of service. Children were all born in the Midwest and raised in Illinois and Alabama.Moved to Atlanta area in 1990 to the Norcross Office and retired in 2002.Started with the Queen in 2006 and haven't looked back. It's so much funto meet and talk with all our great dealers and customers. You can pretty well find anything you're looking for at the Queen. If you let an employee know, they will find it through the Wish Book or by word of mouth. We have such a great following at the Buford store where we see repeat customers and know lots of them by first name.It's a great place to work and I enjoy interacting with all the folks at the Queen.
I was born and raised in Michigan. Atlanta has been my home for over 30 years. My husband and I and our two children moved to Atlanta in the 1980's. Our happily married children havegiven us five wonderful grandchildren. My background is in oils, pen & ink and water color washes and interior design. I have worked at the Queen since 2007. What I enjoy most are the people. We have many treasures at the Queen but our dealer-merchants and our customers are our true treasures. It's a great feeling to help our customers find that special item they are looking for. When a person enters the "Queen of Hearts" they are amazed at the variety of merchandise we have. Our dealer-merchants provide unique antique, vintage and repurposed merchandise that you can proudly decorate your home, office or work, wear or use. Our dealer-merchants work very hard to provide the best quality merchandise for our customers. I am blessed to work with a wonderful staff. Together it weaves the fabric of who the "Queen of Hearts" is.

I have lived here for only two years. I have three children --Lauren, 29, Ali, 25 and Paige, 18. By husband, Gary, and I have been married for over 29 years. My loves are sewing, gardening, crafting and playing volleyball (my favorite). I started with the Queen recently and have enjoyed being around the friendly people here including the staff and customers. I love he Queen because of all the unique stuff I find each time I shop here!

I was born in New Jersey and moved to California in 1981. I worked for Calsonic, division of Nissan, as an engineering secretary. I married in 1983 and moved to Georgia in 1987. I have two children and one grandpuppy. My favorite things about the Queen is the diversity of the people you meet, the items that come in and the job itself. You never know from day to day what will evolve. It is an adventure with a great group of people to work with!
Born in Mt. Holly, NJ and have been in Atlanta for over 40 years. I have three children and one grandchild. I have worked in banking for 20 years and my hobiied inlcude oil painting and gardening. I had my own antique store for four years. My loves are primitives and the art of decorating. I have worked at the Queen since May 2010 and I love the great atmosphere, customers and co-workers. The Queen has a great variety of antiques and collectibles.

Consignment

The Queen of Hearts offers the most generous commission split in the city -- 70/30 for outside consignors. The consignor keeps 70% of the selling price. The Queen of Hearts dealer-merchants receive an 82/18 split. There are no pass through charges. The Queen absorbs all charge card fees.

We have a 4-tier markdown giving 30 days at each level -- first 30 days are at full price. The next 30 days are discounted 10%, the next 30 days are discounted 15% off the original price, and the final 30 days are discounted at 25% off the original price. After 120 days and the merchandise has not sold, it will be necessary to pick up your items or they become the property of the Queen of Hearts.

Consignment merchandise to include furniture, lamps, mirrors, and artwork is accepted in the Marietta and Buford locations only. Photos must be submitted prior to acceptance and all merchandise needs to be home ready -- no need for repairs or refinishing. It is necessary that all upholstered furniture be in Grade A condition.

We do not accept smalls including china, collectibles, books, crystal. In a mall our size, it is too hard to keep up with this type of merchandise. We hope you understand.

All consignment is approved through photos. We cannot accept merchandise that just "appears" at our front door. Please submit consignment photos via qohantiques_yahoo.com along with the starting price. A confirming email will be sent with our acceptance. This email needs to be brought into the store along with your approved merchandise.
